A Catholic priest from the Catholic diocese of ahiara. Prominently known as Fada mentor on his Facebook page advice women, to chase success more than marriage, in his post and I quote.
“A Parish Priest once celebrated the Mary League first friday devotional Mass and during the Homily he asked the girls present, "My dear daughters, by the grace of God and His Providence, where do you see or imagine yourselves in the next 5yrs"?
First, there was a pin drop silence in the church but he repeated the same question and urged them to give him sincere answers, answers that depict their heart desires.
From the answers he got, 90% of them in the next 5yrs see themselves in their husbands' house.
Wow... The Priest was indeed very surprised.
My dear ladies, you can also be successful in the world just the same way that your male counterparts are desirous of success and prestigious heights, or even more.
The pressure in Africa which hangs the success of the female child on marriage has really eaten deep into the systems of our society.
If you are NOT married, beautiful one you are NOT cursed!
Chase success first before thinking about marriage.
Go to school and study very hard if you are given the opportunity.
Learn any skill at all, cooking, braiding of hair, fashion designing, etc.
Be very good in what you do and do your best to be of good character.
Make sure you are established before getting married and it will surely reduce, if not eradicate, the nonsense women see in the name of domestic abuse.
Yes you should be a good cook but your place is NOT in the kitchen but it is in the society making a difference for mankind.”
God bless you
