Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana Ebonyi State on Friday 19th of April 2024 matriculated 2,721 Students for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The matriculating students, according to the Rector of the institution, Dr. Felix U.Attah were admitted for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) full-time and part-time courses in the Polytechnic.
During the Matriculation Ceremony ,the Rector emphasized the institution's core values of discipline and quality education." The Polytechnic was founded on the principle of shaping students to become model citizens with a blend of strong character and academic prowess. Hence, there is a strong focus on hard work and achieving excellence in academics."
Furthermore, students were reminded of the expectation to uphold good conduct at all times. While students are encouraged to engage in positive campus associations, they were sternly warned against involvement in any form of cultism or social vices, as the institution maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards such activities. It was made clear that any breach of the Matriculation Oath could result in expulsion and the loss of student status.
The Rector highlighted the Polytechnic's reputation as a leading academic institution that has nurtured professionals across various sectors. He reassured the matriculating students that by committing to hard work and abiding by the rules, they have the opportunity to unlock their potential for personal growth and contribute positively to their families, Nigeria, Africa, and the global community. Greatness awaits those who embrace the values of the institution and strive to excel in their academic pursuits.
