Seeking a PhD Candidate to work at the interface of inorganic chemistry and chemical biology - Opportunity to learn and work in a multidisciplinary group, at the Interdisciplinary Center for Chemistry and Biology - CICA of the Universidade da Coruña (UDC). CICA is a research center that aims to promote the advancement and excellence of basic and applied R&D in the chemical, biological and biomedical sciences, optimizing the scientific resources of the institution, enhancing the university's research capacity, and promoting the transfer of results to society.
Description:
- Research work: Interdisciplinary collaborative project at the interface of inorganic chemistry and chemical biology, aiming the development of new transition metal complexes and reactivities for the functionalization of biomolecules and their potential application in biomedicine.
Research topic: "Metal-mediated chemoselective functionalization of proteins" (Dr. Jessica Rodriguez).
Research Center: CICA (https://cica.udc.gal/en/), Universidade da Coruña (Spain) Starting Date: Between November and December 2024.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Nanoscience and nanotechnology, or related areas.
- Master's in Chemistry, Nanoscience and nanotechnology, or related areas already completed or to be completed during the current semester.
- Candidates are expected to be interested in multidisciplinary work and motivated to learn from a variety of scientific fields.
- Good interpersonal skills are required and good written and oral communication skills in English are highly desirable.
